This week we watched as the tournament for the fate of the multiverse began on Dragon Ball Super. The next Sports Festival Event got under way as members from Class 1B unveiled their strategy which makes Midoriya’s first place run in the obstacle course seem irrelevant. And Attack on Titan gets more complicated as Historia is revealed to be the rightful Queen, and most of the scouts have been arrested. So with that, my anime episode of the week goes once more to Black Clover.
When the three Magic Knight Captains come to aid Yami and the other Black Bull members in the latest show Episode 37: The One With No Magic, I was excited. Excited to see two Captains who I’ve only seen fight in the previous episodes when Radus and his fellow bad guys tried to take the Clover Kingdom and failed. The only one I haven’t seen fight until this episode was Jack the Ripper, Captain of the Preying Mantis magic squad. From what I can tell, the guy is pretty sadistic for a Magic Knight Captain and fights mercilessly wielding a pair of sythes.
He along with fellow Captain’s Nozel Silva and Charlotte Rossary gave Yami crap for not being able to get the job done against the Third Eye. Yami retorted by saying that he had them all right where he wanted them and that he was about to unleash some special attack when the three other Captains spoiled his fun. So after a little banter between Captains, the fight between them and the Third Eye began.
It was three against three, Charlotte fought the guy who is always tired and bored, unleashing her thorn based magic attacks on him. Jack fought the big guy with his sythes and Nozel battled the fiery red-head girl. Even with his ice based offense, her flames were just too strong. The other Third Eye members were just as tough and even seem to have the advantage.
Meanwhile, Yami needed Finral for some teleporting magic, but not for an escape. He noticed that thanks to the fire magic girls healing power, Licht was building up strength by the second and would soon be fully healed. Yami used Finral’s porter magic to warp right behind Licht as Asta would charge him in a frontal assault with his anti-magic blade. But the two successful attacks only helped the light magic user’s sealed power to break, unleashing a tremendous ray of light that surrounded him.
The yawning Third Eye member commented that this wasn’t the right time for Licht’s sealed power to be broken and called for a retreat. Licht had a last parting word for Asta as he said that that grimoire and anti-magic blades that he carries don’t belong to him. That they belong to his master, whoever that may be. The Third Eye combined their magic might to seal Licht’s power once again, followed by a teleporting retreat.
The episode ended as it showed Licht and other Eye of the Midnight Sun members in healing tanks. It appears that this master that Licht spoke of will come into play in upcoming episodes. Until then, I predict some filers episodes to come. One last thing to mention after watching this episode is that Captain Charolette has the hots for Captain Yami. She doesn’t know why she likes him, but hey the heart wants what the heart wants so just roll with it.
“I’m Corey, and this is my story so far.”
