This week in the world of anime saw an 80’s gag manga character crossover, a U.S premeire and plenty of filler episodes. But the one show that stayed on track and delivered was the latest English dubbed adult swim premiere of My Hero Academia-Bakugous Starting Line A show about many in society who are born with unique traits known as quirks that depending on the persons motives, they can either become a hero or a villain. And if that doesn’t sound X-Menny enough for you, there is a school that shows students how to control their quirks and use them against the world greatest super villains.
This episode was the aftermath of the fight between Deku vs Kacchan where Deku & Uraraka outsmart the villain team and achieved victory. Episode 8 shows the effects on Deku/Izuku’s burnt arms as a result of using too much of All For One’s power too soon. Kacchan/Katsuki was pissed off at Izuku as he usually is. But he is even more so infuriated with the little nerd Deku as he calls him because he believes that Izuku who never had a quirk to begin with (until All Might let him borrow his) that he was hiding it from Katsuki for years.
As the other hero vs villain matches where the villain team had to protect the nuclear missile before the heroes could get there and stop them before time ran out got underway, some new characters were finally introduced. Definitely my favorite one being Shoto Todoroki, who is blessed with the ever so awesome combination quirk of fire and ice. Watching him as he goes all Mr. Freeze on the building with the nuclear weapon as all as the ones protecting it left the other students awestruck at Shoto’s powers. I can’t wait to see if he squares off against Izuku in the coming weeks.
As Izuku gets al healed up thanks to Recovery Girl, he stops Katsuki before he leaves class for the day. He sees that Katsuki is still peeved of the whole situation so he tells him his greatest secret. Well, only half of his secret that it’s true that he previously never had a quirk until someone (not naming All Might) let him borrow their power. He also told him that he may not fully understand his borrowed quirk yet, but when he does he wants to prove it to his rival Katsuki in battle.
Izuku didn’t quite mean to say this so he offered him a compliment. This did not calm Katsuki down, but rather motivated him to get stronger and beat Katsuki into the ground. When All Might showed up, the conversation basically stopped and Katsuki walked away. The grinning worlds greatest hero asked Izuku what he and Katsuki were talking about. When Izuku wouldn’t answer outright, the episode ended as the end theme and credits rolled.
Pump the brakes kid ,there was…a Marvel like easter egg after the end credits were over. It showed some suspicious looking characters who were all sitting at a table in a dark room talking about a plan to go against All Might. Looks like the villains have arrived. And a great way to cap off another good episode of one of the best new anime series around, My Hero Academia.
