After Thanos gained all 6 six Infinity Stones and snapped his fingers, half the universe was wiped out, but not dead as I first had thought. The power of the Soul Stone has to do with life and death, bringing people back from the dead and so forth. So I belive that all of our fallen heroes which include the Black Panther, Spider-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy ect aren’t actually dead, but rather trapped in the soul world of the Soul Stone. And with those characters having confirmed sequels of there movies being made as of this writing, there is a very good chance that they all will return from the world of the Soul Stone.
As far as Gamora returning from the soul world, I honestly don’t think she will. She was used as a sacrifice by Thanos aka daddy dearest in order to obtain the stone. And that of course was before Thanos snapped his oversized fingers. Yet I also believe that if he saw her inside the stone in those visions, then she is not dead, but perhaps a permanent fixture of the Soul Stone.
In Infinity War, both Hawkeye and Ant-Man were absent. Following the events in Captain America: Civil War, both were put under house arrest, but Hawkeye has been confirmed to appear in Avenegrs 4, not sure Ant-Man will make the cut, as he became trapped in the quantum realm at the end credit scene of Ant-Man & the Wasp. And on that note, I think it would have been beneficial to excuse his past offenses and let him fight in Infinity War. The part where Ironman, Doctor Strange and others had Thanos momentarily detained, all Ant-Man needed to do if he was there was shrink down and take the Infinity Stones out one at a time. Yet perhaps the power of him holding the stones in his miniaturized state may have killed him. Guess we’ll never know for sure.
At the start of Infinity War, the Hulk got his butt handed to him when he fought Thanos. He did possess only the power stone at this point which apparently was enough to overpower Hulk. Later on when Bruce Banner was calling on the big guy to come out to fight Thanos’s goons, the Hulk yelled no and remained dormant. And it wasn’t because he was afraid of Thanos as I first wondered, but think now after watching how Banner only brings out the Hulk when some dudes need to be smashed that Hulk became fed up and refused to follow Banners orders. The internal conflict is real, but even so I believe the two will work things out in time for Avengers 4.
Doctor Strange analyzed over 14 million possible outcomes when himself and the other Avengers fought Thanos. And in only one of those outcomes did the Avengers defeat Thanos. Strange gave the Time Stone to Thanos in exchange for Tony Starks life not out of pity, but part of a greater plan. He said earlier in the film more or less that he wouldn’t hesitate to let anyone of you die if it meant saving the universe. As he was about to turn to ash after Thanos snapped his fingers, Strange said to Tony “it was the only way.”
In other words, the only one way out of 14 million possible outcomes of defeating Thanos. Dr. Strange basically became Jessus, sacrificing himself for the greater good. But Strange knew out of all the outcomes that Tony Stark needed to stay alive in order for Thanos to be beaten. And in more Hollywood esq magic, the original cast from the Avengers haven’t turned to ash and are very much alive. Convenient isn’t it, but I won’t complain.
The after credits scene after Infinity War had everyone talking. When Fury speed dialed a digit before turning into ash like half of the universe and the symbol for Captain Marvel appeared, this got me exited along with many fans. As of this writing the Captain Marvel solo movie is being made and is set for release March 2019, which is just 2 months before Avengers 4 hits theaters. Apparently, Captain Marvel will be the most powerful Marvel character yet so it would seem she is poised to kill Thanos. Unless she lets her call go to voicemail, then the universe is doomed.
Honestly, none truly knows what’s going to happen in the Avenegrs 4, as in previous films, the Marvel movies don’t exactly follow the events of the comics to the letter. Will there be time travel? Even though it might ruin the film, probably. Are Tony Stark and Thanos connected somehow and will Stark be the one that kills Thanos? Even with Captain Marvel, Stark could very well deliver the finishing blow. With the Infinity Gauntlet broken, will Thanos seek out another one so that he can protect himself against the Avengers? I don’t think so, because right after he snapped his fingers, he used the Space Stone to warp off of Earth so maybe he can still use the power of the stones, just not them all at once to destroy the remaining half of the universe.
Even if this may be the last time we see Ironman, Thor and Captain America on-screen, their has already been speculation that their will be more Avengers films to come, just without these central characters as their time I believe will come to a close in Avenegers 4. If so, then it was one hell of a ride since 2008 when the first Ironman movie came out. I think that no matter what happens in Avenegers 4, it will most likely end up making more money than any other Marvel movie in history, maybe even more than Star Wars even though that may be a stretch. Either way, Marvel once again has my money and will for the forseeable future. Excelsior!
